History of the Ferrari brand

The Italian automobile company Ferrari was created in 1929 by the famous racer and tester Enzo Ferrari. At first, the company produced its cars with the name Alfa Romeo. The first own car Ferrari 125 was made in 1946. Enzo Ferrari considered it his task to create a car with the comfort of an ordinary road car and with the characteristics of a racing car.

In 1959, the Ferrari 250 GT California was developed, featuring improved sports performance. Produced in quantities of 14 in 1956, the Ferrari 410 Super America was designed specifically for very wealthy customers.

The famous Dino model with a FIAT engine appeared in the early 70s. In 1971, the Berlinetta Boxer is produced, which embodies many elements from racing cars. 1984 was a very progressive year for the Italian company – the legendary Testarossa supercar was born. Equipping this car with the most powerful V12 engine, Ferrari engineers managed to obtain unprecedented speed characteristics. In addition, the elegant design of this model, drawn by the Pininfarina studio, carried the philosophy of the brand in its purest form.

In 1987, the Ferrari F40 model was born, in the development of which Enzo Ferrari himself took part. In this car, everything was subordinated to speed, and the comfort of the driver was made minimal, even seat adjustment was not provided. The eight-cylinder F40 engine developed super power of 478 horsepower. In 1989, Ferrari became part of the FIAT Corporation. In 2002, the world public got acquainted with the model 575 M Maranello. At the same time, the Ferrari Enzo appears – an exclusive model dedicated to the founder of the company.

A total of 399 such cars were produced. In 2013, the Italians introduced to the world their first hybrid supercar LaFerrari with a carbon body and a 12-cylinder engine, supplemented by 2 electrical installations.
