History of the Infiniti brand

Infiniti car company was founded in 1989. Infiniti is a subsidiary of the Renault-Nissan alliance and is engaged in the production of luxury cars. Infiniti products are distinguished by their original design and high-end finishes. Especially for the North American market, the company develops the Infiniti Q45 business sedan in 1989.

In 1996, the QX4 luxury SUV appears, based on the Terrano model. Based on the Primera platform, the compact Infiniti G20 was launched by Infiniti in 1998. In 1999, the auto world meets the Infiniti I30 sedan, which has become one of the best cars in America. Having a luxurious interior and excellent running gear characteristics, the Infiniti I30 was not delivered to the old world.

In 2000, Infiniti and many other companies were affected by the Asian crisis, which significantly reduced the sales of their cars. After the merger of the two companies Renault and Nissan, the situation with Infiniti is gradually improving. In 2001, a respectable new generation Q45 rolled off the assembly line, with a chrome-finished radiator and large trapezoidal headlight reflectors.

Salon Q45 is decorated with leather and expensive wood. The new G35 model, released in 2003, fueled interest in the brand in the US market, sales of Infiniti cars begin to grow rapidly. In the same year, the Japanese company began production of the Infiniti FX sports SUV – the model received a futuristic exterior, and the installed V6 and V8 engines provided it with unsurpassed acceleration characteristics.

In 2004, the company released its flagship model of the QX56 SUV, which is an analogue of the Nissan Armada. A year later, the prestigious Infiniti M sedan appears with two powertrain options. In its class, according to Car and Driver magazine, the Infiniti M was named the best car in 2005.

In 2004, Infiniti announced its entry into the European market. Since December 2012, the company has re-indexed all its models – all sedans and coupes from now on are referred to as Q, and crossovers and SUVs – QX. In 2016, two new models Q30 and QX30 are released, created in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.
